David was born and raised in Billings. He graduated from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon in 1995. He graduated from the University of Montana School of Law in 1998. While in law school, David competed on the ABA Moot Court team, making it through the regional competition to the national competition in Boston, Massachusetts.
Following law school, David served as a law clerk to the Honorable James C. Nelson of the Montana Supreme Court. Since moving to Kalispell in 1999, David has tried jury and bench trials in Montana’s state and federal courts, has tried several cases in the Montana Workers’ Compensation Court, and has orally argued cases in front of the Montana Supreme Court and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. David has represented individual Montanans, small businesses, large corporations, and has twice testified as an expert witness regarding the reasonableness of the fees other lawyers have charged. David joined Bottomly, Eddy & Sandler, PLLP in January 2011. In his free time, David enjoys golfing, fly fishing, running, and spending time with his wife and two children.
